Meet our faculty



Beverly Rogers



Founder and Director



Ms. Rogers is founder and director of the Beverly Rogers Academy of Dance. Beverly holds a BFA in dance from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and an MA in Theatre Arts from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio. She has judged dance competitions for Showstopper, Legacy, and Primetime dance Competitions. Her dance companies have been winning Regional and National Championship awards since 1985. Beverly's students have attained professional performing careers ranging from Broadway shows, National Touring Companies, Cruise Ships, TV, film and more. Students have performed on Saturday Night Live, The Today Show, Disney stages, Cirque Dreams Holidaze, and Louisville Ballet. Her school was ranked among the top 10 competition schools in the nation by Star Systems National Talent. Top choreographers in the country from So You Think You Can Dance, Mia Michaels, Sonja Tayeh, Ray Leeper, and Andy Blankenbuehler have choreographed for Beverly's competition companies. Andy Blankenbuehler is a three-time Tony Award winner for his choreography in the Broadway productions of Bandstand, In The Heights, and the smash hit Hamilton! The Academy's success throughout the years is a direct result of Ms. Rogers' desire to inspire each student with the joy of dance.



David Foresman



Instructor



In 1984, Mr. Foresman began teaching and has since held his classes nationally and internationally. In NYC, he taught at Broadway Dance Center, Dance Space Center, the Soho Training Center, Pineapple Health club, Apple Health club, Equinox Health club, and Crunch Health club. Also nationally at the University of California Santa Cruz, San Jose' Ballet, Tandy Beal company, and Virginia School of the Arts. Internationally he directed/choreographed and taught at the Baroque and Dance Festival in Valtice Czech Republic, and schools in Japan. His stage experience began at age 5 in, Teahouse of the August Moon, Annie, Anything Goes, Die Fledermaus, Fiddler on the Roof, Gigi, Jesus Christ Superstar (European Tour), Principal Dancer in the Arabian Dance in Coupe' Ballet's The Nutcracker, Lead Dancer in Westchester Ballet's production of Les Sylphides, Principal Dancer for Max Stone, Principal Dancer for Edward Morgan, Principal Dancer for Tsai Fung Modern Dance Company, Principal Dancer in Baroque and Dance Festival in Valtice Czech Republic, Principal Dancer in Telstar German Emmy Awards, and Lead Dancer in The Tides of Intolerance at the Asia Society, New York City. Mr. Foresman has also modeled in New York, Los Angeles, and Japan. In 2002, he earned degrees in Anatomy and Physiology, Massage Therapy, Functional Assessment, and was certified in Shiatsu at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York city. In 2005, he and his wife moved from New York City to Paducah to teach full-time for the Beverly Rogers Academy. In 2009, the Beverly Rogers Academy competed its way to one of the top 10 schools Nationwide by Star Systems, an extremely competitive dance competition. Mr. Foresman is proud to have had a hand in raising the level of technique necessary for such an achievement and is passionate and excited to bring the highest levels of dance to the community's children of all ages here in Paducah.



Emily Brown



Instructor



Miss Emily grew up between Middle Tennessee and Washington D.C. where she was trained in classical ballet and modern dance. In 2009 she received a BA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Sweet Briar College before moving back to Washington DC to begin her teaching career. Miss Emily has nearly 15 years of experience teaching and choreographing for dancers of all ages and skill levels. Her favorite genres are classical and contemporary ballet as well as contemporary. She recently moved to Paducah, Kentucky where she is currently studying to become a nurse. Outside of dance and school, Miss Emily loves yoga, cooking, and spending time with her sweet Cavapoo named Juno. She is very excited to share her love of movement with everyone at BRD!



Elena Foresman



Instructor



Mrs. Foresman trained as a rhythmic gymnast, ballerina, and modern dancer from age 8. She made the national dance team in Russia and competed against the best rhythmic gymnasts in the world. She has performed internationally and has worked with renowned choreographers Nina Buisson and Le Min Tam. She is now an Ultrasound Technologist at St. Francis Medical Center and continues to share her knowledge and experience as an instructor at the BRD Academy. Ms. Beverly is proud to have such an accomplished professional teaching at her school!



Kate Lebuhn



Guest Instructor



Miss Kate LeBuhn began her dance training at the age of 4 with the Beverly Rogers Academy of Dance (BRD). She joined the BRD competition troupe at age 6 and studied under the teachers at BRD for 14 years. During her time at Tilghman high School, she received the following accolades: Salutatorian of her Class - Distinguished Student Award - The Citizenship Award - and Miss Tilghman. Miss LeBuhn is currently a student at Harvard University where she is majoring in Human Evolutionary Biology on a pre-med track and secondary in Dance & Music. She is a member of the Harvard Contemporary Collective - a premiere contemporary dance group at Harvard College. She is currently on the board that oversees finances and treasury for the Harvard Contemporary Collective. Kate is looking forward to sharing her love for dance with all the amazing young dancers at the Academy and hopes to ignite her same love for the Art in each one of them at The Beverly Rogers Academy as a guest instructor.



Julia Grubbs



Guest Instructor



Julia began dancing at the Academy when she was just two years old and knew that the stage was where she was meant to be. She continued her training, traveling the country performing and winning numerous awards at regional and national dance competitions. She has a B.A. in Dance and a B.S. in Accounting from Point Park University and is a NYC-based dancer, singer, actress, personal trainer, and accountant. During her college career she had the honor of performing choreography by Dwight Rhoden, Robert Battle, and Twyla Tharp. She has performed at Cedar Point’s largest show, Luminosity as a dancer and aerialist, as well as at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Nightbeats: Revamped. Julia also worked on the cruise ship Norwegian Gem and was in the cast of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her most recent credits include Cirque Dreams Holidaze at the Grand Ole Opry, and a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids at the Lion King Theatre on Broadway! Miss Grubbs’ stage experience also includes Piano Man at the Palace Theatre in New Hampshire. Julia is excited to continue to share her knowledge and passion for dance and excellence with the Academy as a guest instructor.
